Andhra Pradesh: India‘s Koh-i-Noor
Situated on the southeastern part of the country Andhra Pradesh is a well-liked destination in the Southern India and much renowned for its rich history & culture, literature, lovely beaches, towering temples and scenic hill stations, not to mention great wildlife reserves. The state has one of the longest coastlines in India, and many of its districts have unhindered access to the sea.
Although the state has many tourist places, these are the key ones and perhaps the most visited as well:
Hyderabad
The city of Nawabs and the capital of the state, Hyderabad has many tourist spots. It has a Hindu-Muslim culture with numerous monuments of historical significance, including Char Minar, Mecca Masjid, Golconda and Salar Jung Museum.
Vijayawada
Situated on the delta of Krishna River, Vijayawada is a well-known destination in the state. The railway station of Vijayawada is the USP of the city. Krishna River, together with its surrounding valleys, boasts of many lovely tourist hotspots.
Warangal
Situated in the northern part of Andhra Pradesh, Warangal is a historical place and has many ancient temples, antiques, and relics that date back to the second century AD. The place also has unspoiled lakes and superb array of wildlife which much enchant the nature and wildlife enthusiasts.
Srisailam
Located on the banks of Krishna River, this small city is another jewel in the crown of Andhra Pradesh. The Nallamalai Hills and dams and some ancient temples are the key attractions of the place. For those inspired by nature and wildlife, there are lovely hill forests in the area.
Vishakhapatnam
This much developed industrial area of Vishakhapatnam is also a renowned tourist spot and is much famous for Vizag which boasts of one of the most stunning beaches of India. There are some other attractions as well in Vishakhapatnam such as mesmerizing valleys and Buddhist spots.
Tirupati
Located in the southeastern part of the state in Chittoor, Tirupati is one of the most visited, and perhaps richest too, pilgrimage centers for the Hindus across the world.
Wildlife Hotspots
Apart from these tourist places, Andhra Pradesh has several wildlife sanctuaries and forest reserves as well which could be found scattered throughout the state. Eturnagaram, Kawal, Sivaram, Pakhal, Pranahita, Nagarjunasagar, Srisailam Gundlabrahmeshwaram, Shri Venkateshwara…the list of such wildlife and nature reserves is indeed long and impressive.
